Related Federal Cases

Talmadge Garner, the Memphis man at the center of this financial scandal, has been named in a federal indictment for bank fraud.

The indictment alleges that Garner and his co-conspirators perpetrated a five-year-long scheme that netted them $110,831.95.

The scheme, which targeted Orion Federal Credit Union, SunTrust Bank, and Regions Bank, involved the opening of new accounts and the deposit of fraudulent checks.

Garner allegedly used stolen identities to further complicate matters, making it even more difficult for the banks to detect the fraud.

The indictment records 31 counts of fraudulent transactions, each one a testament to Garner’s audacity and cunning.

The maximum penalty for bank fraud? A whopping 30 years in prison and a $1,000,000 fine.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Damon Keith Griffin is leading the charge on the government’s behalf, determined to bring Garner to justice.
