Tarone Hollins, Bank Robbery, Kansas 2015

A brazen daylight robbery shook the community in Prairie Village, Kansas, on October 22, 2015. Tarone Hollins, also known as Tarone Shipp, walked into the Community America Credit Union, located at 7620 State Line Road, and allegedly demanded cash from the teller.

The FBI received 11 tips from local residents after photos of the suspect were made public through the Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers. An affidavit filed in the case alleges that these tips identified Hollins as the perpetrator of the crime.

Tarone Hollins, a 41-year-old Kansas City, Missouri resident, has been charged with one count of bank robbery. If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

The FBI investigated the crime and Assistant U.S. Attorney Tris Hunt is prosecuting the case. In all cases, defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The indictments merely contain allegations of criminal conduct.

The Community America Credit Union, a trusted financial institution in the Prairie Village community, was the target of the brazen robbery. The victim, the credit union, has been cooperative throughout the investigation.
