Tatiana Power, a 41-year-old bookkeeper from Weston, Florida, was sentenced to 151 months in federal prison for her role in supporting internationally operated child sex exploitation websites.
According to court documents, Power was the Vice President and part owner of Power Trading Inc., a Florida corporation used to control and operate the Newstar Enterprise, which ran the sexually exploitative websites under the guise of "child modeling."
From 2009 to 2019, Power served as Power Trading’s bookkeeper, overseeing its financial affairs and assisting in transferring money and making payments for the Newstar Enterprise. She and her now-deceased husband, Kenneth Power, made over $2.2 million from the websites.
The Newstar Enterprise, founded in 2005, built and operated servers in the United States and abroad to host the websites, which used content produced by vulnerable children, some as young as six years old, in sexually explicit poses. The websites had over 4.6 million images and videos, with subscribers from 101 nations across the world.
Power’s role in the conspiracy was to help run the financial affairs of the Newstar Enterprise and assist in evading law enforcement and concealing the true nature of monetary transactions. She was also ordered to forfeit over $2.2 million and real property located in Weston, Florida.
Power is the sixth member of the Newstar Enterprise to be charged in connection with the websites. Her husband, Kenneth Power, was also charged but died before trial. Three other defendants, including Plamen Velinov, have been charged in related cases.
Tatiana Power’s sentencing comes as part of an ongoing effort to combat child sex exploitation and bring perpetrators to justice. The case highlights the need for continued vigilance and cooperation between law enforcement agencies and the public to prevent and investigate such crimes.
