Terrance O’Neal Murphy, Methamphetamine Trafficking, Arkansas 2022

A Benton man has been sentenced to 12 years in federal prison for his role in a large-scale methamphetamine trafficking operation in central Arkansas. Terrance O’Neal Murphy, 45, was sentenced to 144 months in prison followed by 5 years of supervised release on one count of Possession of More Than Five Hundred (500) Grams of a Mixture or Substance Containing Methamphetamine with the Intent to Distribute.

The sentencing hearing took place in the U.S. District Court in Hot Springs, with the Honorable Chief Judge Susan O. Hickey presiding. According to court documents, Homeland Security Investigations identified Murphy as a large-scale methamphetamine distributor in the Central Arkansas geographical area in early 2022.

On April 5, 2022, Murphy was pulled over by the Arkansas State Police for traffic violations. During the traffic stop, officers located over three (3) kilograms of methamphetamine in Murphy’s vehicle. Murphy subsequently fled from the scene but was apprehended a short time later after a foot pursuit.

The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations – Little Rock Field Office, 18th East Judicial District Drug Task Force, Arkansas State Police, and the 18th East Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Bryan Achorn prosecuted the case.

U.S. Attorney David Clay Fowlkes of the Western District of Arkansas made the announcement. The matter was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations – Little Rock Field Office, 18th East Judicial District Drug Task Force, Arkansas State Police, and the 18th East Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
