U.S. District Judge Ed Kinkeade handed down the sentence on an unknown date, following Wright’s guilty plea in May 2015 to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The case began when the Grand Prairie Police Department investigated a burglary that occurred on August 14, 2014, during which several firearms were stolen from a residence in Grand Prairie. Wright was arrested in connection with the burglary and charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, a crime he had committed multiple times before.

Wright has a history of felony convictions, with three prior offenses dating back to 2008 in Dallas and Tarrant counties, all involving cocaine. His lengthy prison sentence is a result of his repeated failures to adhere to the law and his blatant disregard for the safety of the community.
