Convicted Felon Lands 10-Year Prison Sentence
A Montana Mines resident has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for Felon in Possession of a Firearm, U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II announced.
Thomas Randall, age 41, was sentenced on no specified date in Federal Court in Clarksburg, West Virginia.
Randall was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal pending designation to a Federal institution. This case was prosecuted by Criminal Chief Shawn A. Morgan and was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
The indictment states that Randall was found to be in possession of a firearm, despite having a previous felony conviction. This is a violation of federal law, which prohibits felons from possessing firearms.
Randall’s sentence is a result of a guilty plea entered earlier in the case. He will also serve one year of supervised release after his prison term.
This case is an example of the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s commitment to enforcing federal laws and protecting the public from violent crime.

McWilliams, Jr. and investigated by the Harrison County Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Three Rivers Drug Task Force and the Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigations.
