DAYTON, Ohio – A federal grand jury in Ohio has indicted the Midwest Regional ‘boss’ and 13 other members of the Thug Riders Motorcycle Club (TRMC) on charges of murder, arson, extortion and identity fraud.
The indictment, returned on June 11, alleges that the TRMC operated a criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in acts of violence and other crimes. All 14 defendants were arrested yesterday.
According to the indictment, members of the TRMC Dayton chapter engaged in overt acts in support of their enterprise, including blowing up a former member’s vehicle, killing a man during a shootout, and shooting into a rival gang’s clubhouse. The indictment also alleges that members threatened and extorted former gang members, broke the leg of a patron at a tavern, and physically assaulted members of another motorcycle gang.
The individuals charged in the indictment are:
- Juan A. Robles (45) of Phoenix, Arizona, known as ‘Juan the Man’
- Joey A. Marshall (44) of Xenia, Ohio, known as ‘King Joe, Diesel’
- Jared T. Peters (37) of Dayton, Ohio, known as ‘Savage’
- Brandon W. Fisher (26) of Piqua, Ohio, known as ‘Road Runner’
- John A. Smith (37) of Dayton, Ohio, known as ‘Chaos’
- Norman D. Beach (49) of Dayton, Ohio, known as ‘Stormin’ Normin’
- Michael S. Henry (40) of Xenia, Ohio, known as ‘Brutal’
- Daniel B. Hutton (39) of Fairborn, Ohio, known as ‘Havok’
- Michael L. Reese (44) of Miamisburg, Ohio, known as ‘Butcher’
- Matthew J. Hawkins (32) of Pequea, Pennsylvania, known as ‘Hawk’
- Joseph M. Rader (32) of Richmond, Kentucky, known as ‘Delta’
- Justin J. Baker (29) of Columbus, Ohio, known as ‘Wild Boy’
- Cody D. Hughes (28) of Columbus, Ohio, known as ‘Tater’
- Brent A. Egleston (36) of Xenia, Ohio, known as ‘Be Easy’
Robles, Marshall, Peters, Fisher, and Smith are alleged to have held leadership roles within the TRMC, with Robles serving as the Midwest Regional ‘boss’ and Marshall serving as the Midwest Regional ‘sergeant at arms’.
The TRMC was founded in 2003 and has chapters in multiple states, including Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri. Members pay regular dues and fines to the motorcycle gang and are required to attend ‘church’ meetings, which are held regularly and attended only by full or ‘patched’ members.
Count one of the indictment charges Robles, Marshall, Peters, Fisher, Smith, Beach and others with racketeering conspiracy, while count two charges them with murder in aid of racketeering. Additional charges include arson, extortion, and identity fraud.
