A federal judge in Alabama has handed down a significant sentence to a man convicted of producing and possessing child pornography.
U.S. District Court Judge Anna Manasco sentenced 40-year-old Timothy Joseph Page of Montevallo to 405 months in prison, followed by a lifetime of supervised release. Page was also required to register as a sex offender under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA).
The conviction stems from a guilty plea Page entered in December 2023, admitting to two counts of production of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography. According to the plea agreement, Page produced child pornography depicting a 12-year-old female and was in possession of over 400 images of child pornography, including images of prepubescent children.
The case was brought under Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children online and to identify and rescue victims.
Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) investigated the case, working alongside the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and Alabaster Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel S. McBrayer prosecuted the case.
Page’s conviction is a significant blow to individuals who engage in child exploitation and abuse. The sentence handed down by Judge Manasco serves as a reminder that those who commit such crimes will be held accountable.
