Tony Wilson, Cocaine Trafficking, New Jersey 2017

CAMDEN, N.J. – In a shocking turn of events, Tony Wilson, a 25-year-old Camden man, pleaded guilty to his role in a crack cocaine distribution conspiracy and firearm offenses in a U.S. District Court.

According to documents filed in the case and statements made in court, Wilson admitted to being a member of an organization that sold crack cocaine in and around the 1100 block of Lansdowne Avenue in Camden. Wilson also admitted to possessing a .40 caliber handgun in connection with the organization’s drug trafficking activities.

The investigation, which was led by the FBI’s South Jersey Violent Offender and Gang Task Force, uncovered a complex web of drug trafficking and firearm offenses involving multiple individuals. Wilson’s plea comes after a long-term investigation that involved the seizure of drugs and the recovery of two handguns.

Wilson is one of several individuals who have been charged in connection with the conspiracy. Two other co-conspirators, Jason Boyd and Derek Stallworth, have already pleaded guilty to the same charges. Boyd’s sentencing is scheduled for April 28, 2017, while Stallworth’s sentencing is set for March 24, 2017.

The charges against Wilson carry a maximum potential penalty of 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine. Wilson also faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison to be served consecutively to the conspiracy charges. Sentencing is scheduled for June 16, 2017.

U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman credited the FBI’s South Jersey Violent Offender and Gang Task Force, the Camden County Police Department, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, and the N.J. State Police with the investigation leading to Wilson’s guilty plea. Fishman also thanked the Camden County Sheriff’s Department, the Cherry Hill Police Department, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations for their assistance.

The government is represented by Assistant U.S. Attorney Gabriel J. Vidoni of the U.S. Attorney’s Office Criminal Division in Camden.
