Travis Glies, Producing Sexual Images of Minors, Pennsylvania 2016

A North Hills man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for producing sexual images of minors, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced this week.

Travis Glies, 38, of Allison Park, was sentenced to 216 months imprisonment, followed by a lifetime of supervised release, on his conviction of production material depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor, Acting United States Attorney Soo C. Song announced.

According to court documents, Glies produced visual depictions of the sexual exploitation of a minor from January to February 2016.

Assistant United States Attorney Jessica Lieber Smolar prosecuted the case, which was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the government to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office, and the Allegheny County Police Department.

Glies’ conviction is a result of a collaborative effort by law enforcement agencies to identify and prosecute individuals who exploit children.

Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children and to identify and rescue victims.
