HOUSTON, TX – Commodity futures regulators have accused Houston resident Troy Mason and his company, ZTegrity, Inc., of running a fraudulent forex trading scheme. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) filed a civil enforcement action in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas on June 23, 2021, alleging fraudulent solicitation and failure to register with the agency as required by law.
According to the CFTC complaint, Mason and ZTegrity lured investors with promises of a low-risk, high-yield savings alternative through a program marketed as “The Black Club” and “The Forex Savings Club.” The defendants allegedly claimed to offer a guaranteed repayment of funds contributed to individual “Forex Savings Accounts” and a “100% certainty” of sharing in substantial profits generated through pooled forex trading. The scheme reportedly attracted over $460,000 from 411 participants.
Regulators allege that Mason and ZTegrity knew, or recklessly disregarded, the inherent risks of forex trading and the impossibility of guaranteeing profits or full repayment of contributions. The complaint further states the defendants failed to disclose that they did not maintain any U.S.-based forex trading accounts.
On June 10, 2021, the court issued a restraining order, freezing assets and mandating the preservation of relevant documents. The CFTC is seeking full restitution for defrauded clients, disgorgement of ill-gotten gains, civil monetary penalties, a permanent ban from trading and registration, and a permanent injunction to prevent further violations of the Commodity Exchange Act (CEA).
The Texas State Securities Board assisted the CFTC in this investigation. Individuals with information about potential commodity trading fraud are encouraged to contact the CFTC via its toll-free hotline (866-FON-CFTC), submit a tip online, or contact the Whistleblower Office.
