A Tucson man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in distributing child pornography.

Robert Henderson, Jr., 59, of Tucson, Arizona, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Jennifer G. Zipps to 10 years in prison.

Henderson pleaded guilty to Distribution of Child Pornography. The charges against him were brought as part of a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.

Henderson was charged with child pornography offenses on June 26, 2019, after a law enforcement investigation identified him as using a file-sharing network to obtain child sex abuse material in 2018.

Upon release from prison, Henderson will be placed on lifetime supervised release with stringent conditions of supervision, including registering as a sex offender and completing a sex offender treatment program.

The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. The program aims to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.

Homeland Security Investigations, Tucson, conducted the investigation in this case, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Carin C. Duryee handling the prosecution.

Henderson’s sentence is a result of his guilty plea to Distribution of Child Pornography. He will face significant consequences for his crimes, including the 10-year prison sentence and lifetime supervised release.
