TULSA, OK – A trio of individuals are facing serious federal charges following a brazen carjacking and subsequent attempts to obstruct justice, according to a statement released today by U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson. The August Federal Grand Jury 2024-B indictments detail a pattern of violent crime and intimidation within the city.
Christopher Ray Barrett, 40, of Tulsa, Jessica Marie Johnson, 37, also of Tulsa, and Katelyn Mary LeBlanc, 27, a transient, are accused of taking a vehicle by force – a classic carjacking. But the charges don’t stop there. The indictment alleges the three conspired to silence potential witnesses and victims, attempting to derail the investigation through threats and intimidation. Barrett faces additional charges for brandishing a firearm during the commission of the crime and for illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon.
Beyond the carjacking, the grand jury also handed down indictments in several other disturbing cases. Wilmer Ulvin Aguilar-Miranda, 30, a Guatemalan national, is charged with Unlawful Reentry of a Removed Alien, having been previously deported in March 2013. Joshua Lee Cornog, 43, of Commerce, is facing charges related to the distribution of methamphetamine, specifically, Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute over 500 grams.
Perhaps the most harrowing indictment centers around Jerry Charles Creek, Jr., 53, of Collinsville. Creek is accused of a sustained and brutal campaign of violence against an intimate partner, allegedly committed in Indian Country. The charges include Assault of an Intimate/Dating Partner by Strangling and Suffocating, Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon with Intent to do Bodily Harm, Aggravated Sexual Abuse by Force and Threat, Assault with Intent to Commit Murder, and Kidnapping. The alleged abuse occurred in November 2023 and April 2024, with sexual assault incidents reported in November 2023 and March 2024.
The grand jury also targeted individuals involved in online exploitation. Cameron David Joshua Cox, 36, of Tulsa, is charged with Receipt and Distribution of Child Pornography, accused of knowingly possessing and distributing images depicting the sexual abuse of children. Finally, Henry Joseph Jaquez is facing charges as a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition, and also faces charges of kidnapping and assault in Indian Country.
U.S. Attorney Johnson emphasized that an indictment is not a finding of guilt, but rather a formal accusation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. The cases are being prosecuted by various Assistant U.S. Attorneys, with investigations led by agencies including ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Tulsa Police Department, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and the FBI. Case numbers are as follows: 25-CR-308, 25-CR-024, 25-CR-314, 24-CR-259, 25-CR-307.
