Tyler Bateman, Threatening Communications, Alaska 2018

Anchorage resident Tyler Bateman, 27, has been arrested and charged with making threatening statements against an Anchorage business and an Anchorage Police Officer. The arrest was made by FBI Special Agents in New York City early this morning.

According to the Criminal Complaint, it is alleged that on February 26, 2018, Bateman threatened via text messages to shoot and bomb an Anchorage business. Later that same day, it is further alleged that Bateman threatened, via social media, to shoot and poison an Anchorage Police Officer and ‘several other people.’

The FBI and APD conducted the investigation leading to the charges in this case.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonas M. Walker.
