Tyler Davis, Child Pornography, Louisiana 2024

A disturbing case of child pornography has surfaced in Louisiana, with 21-year-old Tyler Davis of Montegut facing serious charges. According to a recent indictment, Davis is accused of knowingly possessing images and videos depicting the sexual victimization of minors.

As reported by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the alleged crimes took place between an unknown time and July 13, 2015. During this period, Davis is said to have possessed a Samsung Galaxy cell phone and a Dell Inspiron laptop computer, both containing pre-pubescent images and videos of children less than twelve years old.

The indictment charges Davis with two counts of possessing child pornography, with each count carrying a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison, followed by a lifetime term of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.

While the indictment is a serious development, U.S. Attorney Kenneth A. Polite emphasized that the defendant is still innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

As part of the investigation, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI Houma), HSI Ottawa, and the York Regional Police Special Victim’s Unit, Ottawa, Canada, provided crucial assistance.

The case is being prosecuted by Project Safe Childhood Coordinator and Fraud Section Chief, Assistant U.S. Attorney Brian M. Klebba.
