methamphetamine conspiracy rocks Lancaster County as 24-year-old Tymarious Nydarious Thompson receives 15-year prison sentence.
COLUMBIA, S.C. – In a federal case that highlights the dangers of drug trafficking, Tymarious Nydarious Thompson, a 24-year-old man from Lancaster, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison. According to the evidence gathered during the investigation, Thompson conspired with Mikel Stewart and others to obtain and distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine, a quantity of cocaine, and a quantity of marijuana.
During a search of his home in 2019, investigators found 7 pounds of marijuana, a sawed-off shotgun, a handgun, ammunition, and counterfeit money. Law enforcement also made several purchases of pure ice methamphetamine from him. Just a year later, in 2020, law enforcement conducted another search of his home and found more than 198 grams of pure ice methamphetamine, marijuana, and crack cocaine along with another firearm and over $4,000.
Thompson’s actions did not stop there. Even after the discovery of these illicit substances, he continued to sell more ice methamphetamine to an undercover agent. The sheer scope of Thompson’s operation has left law enforcement officials shaken. ‘This case is a stark reminder of the dangers of drug trafficking and the importance of working together to keep our communities safe,’ said a spokesperson for the law enforcement agencies involved.
The case was investigated by the Department of Homeland Security Investigations, Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, Lancaster Police Department, and the York County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney William K. Witherspoon is prosecuting the case.
United States District Judge Mary Geiger Lewis handed down the sentence. Thompson will serve 180 months imprisonment, followed by a five-year term of court-ordered supervision. It is essential to note that there is no parole in the federal system.
Thompson’s actions have sent shockwaves through the community, and his sentence serves as a warning to those involved in similar activities. As the investigation and prosecution of drug trafficking cases continue, law enforcement officials remain committed to keeping our communities safe and bringing those responsible to justice.
