CHARLESTON, W.Va. – In a heartwarming display of solidarity with those affected by crime, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of West Virginia, along with federal, state and local advocates of crime victims’ rights, will join forces for the Walk/Run for Justice 5K and Crime Victims’ Rights Fair.
On Friday, April 21, 2017, from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M., the event will take place at Haddad Riverfront Park in Charleston. This year marks another milestone in the annual Walk/Run for Justice and community fair, which has been raising awareness about crime victims’ issues and rights since 2001.
Registration for walkers and runners is free and begins at 11:00 A.M. The Walk/Run for Justice will kick off at noon. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in both men’s and women’s divisions, as well as the Spirit Award for the team with the most participants.
A free lunch will be provided while supplies last, and the first 100 participants will receive a complimentary t-shirt. For more information, please contact Marla Willcox Eddy at 304-340-3676.
U.S. Attorney Carol Casto will be in attendance, along with Operation Reach Out committee members, other federal, state and local officials, and staff representing the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of West Virginia and other offices and organizations involved in working with crime victims.
