Victor Guardado Zepeda, Violent Crime Spree, Texas 2025

A violent crime spree in the Denton-area has come to an end, thanks to the sentencing of a Houston man to federal prison.

Victor Guardado Zepeda, 43, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to interfere with interstate commerce by robbery; conspiracy to carry a firearm during a crime of violence; two counts of Hobbs Act robbery; and two counts of brandishing firearm during a crime of violence.

The violent crime spree, which occurred in Denton and Lewisville, resulted in over $100,000 being stolen from two convenience stores. During the robberies, the assailants entered the stores, brandished firearms, and placed an employee on her knees at gunpoint, while the others went into the manager’s office and severely beat one of the employees.

The case was investigated by the FBI, Denton Police Department, and Lewisville Police Department. This case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Chalana A. Oliver.

On August 26, 2025, U.S. District Judge Amos L. Mazzant, III sentenced Zepeda to a total of 231 months in federal prison.
