Victor Rios-Merlin, Entering U.S. after Removal, Maine 2020

Victor Rios-Merlin, 41, a Mexican citizen, has been sentenced for entering the United States after removal, in a federal court in Bangor, Maine.

According to official records, Rios-Merlin was arrested by U.S. Border Patrol agents in Caribou on March 3, 2020, after they stopped the vehicle he was a passenger in. Immigration records revealed that he had been removed from the U.S. in November 2016.

Following his guilty plea, U.S. District Judge Lance E. Walker sentenced Rios-Merlin to time served, which amounts to over two months in federal custody.
