A federal court in Burlington, Vermont, has handed down a verdict in a highly publicized case involving the distribution of heroin laced with fentanyl. Victoria Pease, 32, was found guilty of distributing heroin and has been sentenced to time served.
The U.S. Attorney for the District of Vermont announced that Pease was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Christina Reiss to a three-year term of supervised release. Additionally, Pease must undergo six months of location monitoring.
The charges against Pease stem from an incident in Brattleboro, Vermont, on March 12, 2020. She was arrested in August of that year and has been detained ever since.
Pease’s guilty plea comes despite a prior federal felony drug conviction in 2017. The Vermont Drug Task Force investigated the case.
