SCRANTON- In a shocking turn of events, Torrance Gamble, a 49-year-old inmate at Federal Corrections Institution Schuylkill, has been charged with possession of a narcotic drug.
According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, Gamble was charged in a criminal information with possession of a narcotic drug, specifically buprenorphine, also known as Suboxone, on December 1, 2021.
Federal inmates are not permitted to possess narcotics, making Gamble’s alleged actions a serious offense. If convicted, the maximum penalty under federal law for this offense is 20 years of imprisonment, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine.
The case was investigated by the FBI and the Bureau of Prisons, and will be prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Sean A. Camoni.
