Man Charged with Alien in Possession of a Firearm and/or Ammunition
Baltimore, Maryland – Vielman Cabrera Arevalo, 20, of Guatemala, has been charged with Alien in Possession of a Firearm and/or Ammunition. The indictment alleges that Arevalo was found in possession of two rounds of CBC 9mm Luger ammunition on December 14, 2023.
Arevalo is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in prison.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative to repel the invasion of illegal immigration and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.
The case is also part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a program bringing together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and gun violence.
U.S. Attorney Kelly O. Hayes commended Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Baltimore, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for their work in connection with this investigation.
