Voeruth Meas, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Alabama 2025

A seven-time convicted felon has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for his latest crime.

Voeruth Meas, 40, of Irvington, Alabama, was sentenced on his third federal felony conviction to 15 years imprisonment on Thursday. Meas was convicted of Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine.

According to court documents, Meas’ first conviction in federal court was for two separate charges: conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and knowing possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. On November 6, 2006, Meas was sentenced to 188 months imprisonment, followed by a five-year term of supervised release.

Meas was released from prison but was arrested again on three additional charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Drug User in Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number. Meas was found guilty of those charges and was sentenced on April 13, 2015 to 70 months imprisonment, consecutive to an 8-month sentence for violating his supervised release conditions.

Meas was released again to supervision on April 5, 2021. However, he failed to comply with the terms of his supervision and an arrest warrant was issued for his arrest. Meas was arrested on October 19, 2021 and found in possession of a Smith & Wesson 9 mm semiautomatic pistol, as well as methamphetamine ice, marijuana, cocaine, and a meth pipe.

Meas was arrested again on July 25, 2024 after an investigation revealed that he had been selling methamphetamine in the parking lot of a motel on West I-65 Service Road in Mobile. Deputies followed him as he drove away from the location and stopped his vehicle, finding methamphetamine ice inside.

Meas admitted to being responsible for the distribution of approximately 168 grams of methamphetamine ice. He pled guilty to the last two charges in May 2025. United States District Court Judge Kristi Dubose imposed the 15-year sentence and ordered Meas to serve ten years on supervised release following his imprisonment. As conditions of Meas’ supervision, he will undergo testing and treatment for drug and/or alcohol abuse, and will be subject to a search of his person and premises upon reasonable suspicion.
