Wade J. Paulisick, Jr., Fentanyl Charge, New York 2023

A Jamestown man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in a fentanyl trafficking operation.

U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo handed down the sentence to Wade J. Paulisick, Jr., 25, of Jamestown, NY, who was convicted of possession with intent to distribute 100 grams or more of acetyl fentanyl, an analogue of fentanyl.

According to officials, a search warrant was executed at Paulisick’s residence on Tower Street in Jamestown in September 2019. Investigators seized narcotics, including quantities of acetyl fentanyl, fentanyl, and methamphetamine, as well as a stolen handgun.

The investigation was led by the Jamestown Police Department, under the direction of Chief Timothy Jackson; the New York State Police, under the direction of Major James Hall; the Drug Enforcement Administration, under the direction of Acting Special Agent-in-Charge Timothy Foley; and the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force, under the direction of Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff Timothy Whitcomb.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Charles E. Watkins and Joshua A. Violanti handled the case and stated that the sentencing is the result of months of work by the investigative team.

In addition to the prison sentence, Paulisick’s conviction and sentencing bring an end to a long and complex investigation into the fentanyl trafficking operation.
