Oklahoma Woman Pleads Guilty to Union Theft
A Warner woman has admitted to stealing from the American Federation of Government Employees Local 2250 in the Veterans Administration Hospital.
According to a guilty plea entered in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, Christy Little Coppin, age 41, of Warner, Oklahoma, stole from the union between May 2015 and July 2017.
The indictment alleges that Coppin, with intent to steal and purloin, took and carried away personal property of the Office of the American Federation of Government Employees Local 2250, with a value exceeding $1,000.00.
The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Coppin pleaded guilty to Theft Within Special Maritime And Territorial, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 661. The crime is punishable by not more than 5 years imprisonment, a fine up to $250,000.00, or both.
The charges arose from an investigation by the United States Department of Labor. Assistant United States Attorney Sarah McAmis represented the United States.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Steven P. Shreder accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report.
