Cristhian Guerrero-Alvarez, a/k/a “Raul Hernandez,” of Warrington, PA, is back in federal crosshairs — charged with illegally reentering the United States after being deported eight separate times, authorities announced today.

The indictment, unsealed by U.S. Attorney Zane David Memeger, alleges that on or about October 18, 2016, Guerrero-Alvarez — an alien and native citizen of Mexico — was found inside the U.S. despite prior removals on August 18, 2008; February 24, 2011; March 28, 2011; April 3, 2011; April 15, 2011; July 8, 2015; January 27, 2016; and June 15, 2016. Each date marks another failure to stay out.

Illegal reentry after deportation is a federal felony. If convicted, Guerrero-Alvarez faces a maximum sentence of ten years behind bars, plus possible fines and mandatory deportation upon release. The charge underscores a pattern of defiance against federal immigration orders.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) handled the investigation, tracking Guerrero-Alvarez’s movements and immigration history with precision. The agency has intensified efforts to target repeat immigration offenders, particularly those with multiple removals.

Prosecution is now in the hands of Assistant U.S. Attorney Sean P. McDonnell, who is pushing forward the case in federal court. A detention hearing and arraignment are expected in the coming weeks, where Guerrero-Alvarez will enter a formal plea.

An indictment is not a conviction. Cristhian Guerrero-Alvarez is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. Still, with eight prior deportations on the record, this case stands as one of the most flagrant examples of illegal reentry in recent Pennsylvania federal docket history.
