Alexandria, Va. – A trio of brothers from Washington have been handed down prison sentences after a violent crime spree that spanned both Virginia and Maryland.
According to court documents, Andre Joel White Jr., 41; Abdullah Khalil Ismael DeVaugh Michelle, also known as Damien Devaughn Moore, 43; and Aaron Isaiah Devaughn Aaron White, 29, embarked on a series of armed robberies from September 2023 to February 2024. Their targets included a convenience store, four tobacco shops, and a gas station, which they hit twice, along with an attempted robbery at another gas station.
During the robberies, the brothers donned masks and gloves, brandished firearms, assaulted a victim, and made off with money and cigarettes. The spree took a bizarre turn on December 4, 2023, when Michelle noticed a ride-share driver helping a passenger. He stole the car and used it to commit more robberies in Virginia.
When the stolen vehicle broke down after another heist, the trio abandoned it and continued their crime wave with a rented van. The van was reported stolen, and on February 13, 2024, Michelle was arrested while driving it, despite using stolen license plates.
On February 5, 2024, Michelle pled guilty to conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery and two counts of using, carrying, and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence. He was sentenced to 21 years in prison. Aaron White faced a similar sentence of 14 years for his role in the robberies.
Andre White pled guilty on December 18, 2024, to three counts of using, carrying, and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, receiving a sentence of 10 years and six months. The sentencing was announced by U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, Erik S. Siebert, and William J. DelBagno, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Baltimore Field Office.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program dedicated to reducing violent crime and gun violence. It underscores the commitment to fostering trust, supporting community-based organizations, setting focused enforcement priorities, and measuring results.
