Heroin Trafficking Plagues Berkeley County, West Virginia
A Maryland man has been convicted of heroin trafficking in Berkeley County, West Virginia. William Tillman, 50, of Annapolis, Maryland, sold heroin in the area in April 2014.
According to prosecutors, Tillman pled guilty to one count of ‘Aiding and Abetting the Distribution of Heroin.’ He faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $1,000,000.
The sentence will be determined by the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, taking into account the seriousness of the offenses and Tillman’s prior criminal history, if any.

The case was prosecuted by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Lara K. Omps-Botteicher, of the West Virginia Attorney General’s Office. The Eastern Panhandle Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, led the investigation.
The case was heard in federal court in Martinsburg, West Virginia, before U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert W. Trumble.
