BOSTON — A 37-year-old Brooklyn man is facing serious federal charges tied to a multiday drug distribution ring that pumped heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine into the streets of Lynn, Massachusetts. Wilkin Cedano has been charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin, 40 grams or more of fentanyl, and cocaine.
The indictment alleges that Cedano, alongside unnamed co-conspirators, operated the drug ring from approximately November 2019 through December 2, 2019. Federal authorities say the operation centered in Lynn, a city long plagued by opioid-related overdoses and violent drug trade spillover from nearby urban hubs.
Cedano now faces a mandatory minimum of five years in federal prison, with a maximum sentence of up to 40 years behind bars if convicted. Prosecutors also note he could be slapped with a $5 million fine and subjected to a minimum of four years — or a lifetime — of supervised release under federal sentencing guidelines.
Acting United States Attorney Nathaniel R. Mendell and Brian D. Boyle, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s New England Field Division, announced the charges today. The Lynn Police Department played a crucial role in the investigation, providing intelligence and local enforcement support that helped crack the case open.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Samuel R. Feldman and Leah B. Foley of Mendell’s Narcotics and Money Laundering Unit are leading the prosecution. Court documents outline wiretap evidence, informant testimony, and seized substances as key components of the government’s case, though all details remain allegations at this stage.
Wilkin Cedano is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. A federal district court judge will ultimately determine sentencing, weighing the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors if a conviction is secured.
