Defendant Sentenced for Crack Cocaine Distribution in Wheeling

WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA – William ‘B.J.’ Farmer, 39, of Wheeling, has been convicted of selling crack cocaine in Ohio County, West Virginia.

According to court documents, Farmer sold crack cocaine in June 2014. An investigation by the Ohio Valley Drug and Violent Crime Task Force revealed the extent of Farmer’s illicit activities.

Farmer pled guilty to one count of ‘Distribution of Cocaine Base.’ As a result, he faces up to 20 months in prison. In addition, Farmer admitted to violating the conditions of his previously imposed period of supervised release.

In court, Farmer was sentenced to an additional 18 months in prison for the supervised release violation. This brings his total prison time to 38 months.

Assistant U.S. Attorney John Parr is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government. Senior U.S. District Judge Frederick P. Stamp presided over the sentencing.
