Local Man Charged with Defrauding Ticket Sellers

A 35-year-old Glassport resident has been accused of defrauding online ticket sellers, including StubHub!, PayPal, and Huntington Bank, out of thousands of dollars in a scheme to purchase game tickets without paying.

According to the indictment, William B. Rusnock, 35, of Glassport, PA, made fraudulent purchases of sporting event tickets on StubHub! without paying for them, defrauding StubHub!, PayPal, and Huntington Bank.

The 12-count indictment, returned on September 22, 2022, named Rusnock as the sole defendant in this case.

Rusnock faces a total sentence of 20 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both for each count of conviction. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed is based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

Assistant United States Attorney Gregory C. Melucci is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government. The United States Secret Service conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case.
