Ohio Man Sentenced to Prison for Trafficking Fentanyl, Cocaine, and Other Narcotics

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – William McCree, a 21-year-old resident of Youngstown, Ohio, has been sentenced in federal court to 45 months in prison for conspiring to distribute and distributing fentanyl, fluorofentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine.

Senior United States District Judge Arthur J. Schwab imposed the sentence on McCree, ordering him to serve three years of supervised release following his prison term. McCree was on bond with a pending state drug trafficking charge in Mercer County, Pennsylvania, during part of the time period from May 2021 to October 2022.

According to court documents, McCree was responsible for trafficking 35 grams of fentanyl, five grams of fluorofentanyl, 50 grams of cocaine, and 30 grams of methamphetamine. Assistant United States Attorney Craig W. Haller prosecuted this case on behalf of the United States.

United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, United States Postal Inspection Service, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Lawrence County Drug Task Force, Mercer County Drug Task Force, New Castle Police Department, Sharon Police Department, and Pennsylvania State Police for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of McCree.

The charges against McCree include conspiring to distribute and distributing fentanyl, fluorofentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine. McCree is currently serving a 45-month prison sentence.

The case against McCree began in May 2021 and continued until October 2022. During that time, McCree was on bond with a pending state drug trafficking charge in Mercer County, Pennsylvania.

In addition to his prison sentence, McCree will serve three years of supervised release following his release from prison. The investigation into McCree’s activities was a collaborative effort involving several law enforcement agencies.
