In a disturbing revelation, authorities in Maryland have charged a 39-year-old El Salvador native with illegal re-entry into the United States. Willians Elenilson Beltran-Quintanilla, a 39-year-old man from El Salvador, was indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly re-entering the country without proper authorization.
According to the indictment, Beltran-Quintanilla was first found in Prince George’s County, Maryland, in December 2023, after being previously removed from the country. His troubles began in 2005, when he was apprehended by the United States Border Patrol near Eagle Pass, Texas, and subsequently ordered to be removed from the United States to El Salvador.
Beltran-Quintanilla was removed from the country on April 10, 2007, but he re-entered the United States at an unknown place, date, and time. He was encountered by law enforcement again on June 16, 2007, resulting in the issuance of removal orders for a second time. His latest run-in with the law occurred on December 21, 2023, when Prince George’s County Police found him unlawfully in the United States, executing a search warrant at his residence and charging him with drug-related offenses.
Beltran-Quintanilla has been charged with illegally re-entering the United States, a crime that carries severe penalties. An indictment is not a finding of guilt, and Beltran-Quintanilla is presumed innocent until proven guilty at a later criminal proceeding.
The case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration, eliminating cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and protecting communities from violent crime. U.S. Attorney Kelly O. Hayes commended ICE-ERO for its work in this matter, thanking Assistant U.S. Attorney Brooke Oki for prosecuting the federal case.
