Wilmington Drug Dealer Ronesha Greene-McNeil Sentenced for Meth Distribution

New Bern, N.C. – In a hard-hitting blow to the drug trade in North Carolina, Ronesha Greene-McNeil, 36, of Wilmington, has been sentenced to a decade in federal prison for her role in distributing methamphetamine and possessing an illegal firearm.

\\

Greene-McNeil was caught red-handed during an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation codenamed “Golfer”. Between April 7, 2021, and May 26, 2021, she sold over a kilogram of meth to an undercover ATF agent in Brunswick County. The dealer didn’t stop there; on June 7, 2021, she also peddled a 9mm handgun and a sawed-off .22 caliber semiautomatic rifle with a 110-round drum magazine.

\\

But the law caught up quickly. Just a month later, Greene-McNeil was stopped for a traffic violation in Brunswick County. During the stop, deputies discovered a kilogram of meth in her vehicle, sealing her fate.

\\

The sentence comes as part of an intensive OCDETF investigation aimed at dismantling high-level drug traffickers and their operations. Greene-McNeil’s conviction is a testament to the effectiveness of this multi-agency approach that leverages federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies against criminal networks.

\\

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy Severo and Gabe Diaz, with investigations conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), as well as the New Hanover and Brunswick County Sheriffs’ Office. The announcement of the sentence was made by Michael Easley, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina.
