TYLER, Texas – The grim tale of gun trafficking in the Eastern District of Texas takes a new twist as Andrea Jaine Burns London, a 51-year-old from Yantis, pleads guilty to federal firearms violations. London, alongside Lucretia Beth Brown, was charged with conspiracy charges after their illegal activities were uncovered.
The duo’s scheme involved transporting guns from Lake Fork Gunslinger & Outdoors in Emory, Texas, to various gun shows across Oklahoma, Missouri, and Arkansas. They sold these weapons without properly recording the buyers’ personal information – a clear violation of federal firearms laws.
London and Brown were indicted on July 11, 2012, and their homes and business were raided by federal agents in November 2011. However, they managed to flee the country for the Philippines in February 2012 before being captured without incident by Philippine Immigration Agents in October 2012.
Brown pleaded guilty to conspiracy to fail to perform background checks on February 14, 2013, and awaits sentencing. London faces up to 10 years in federal prison at her sentencing hearing, which has yet to be scheduled.
This case is a part of the Project Safe Neighborhoods Initiative, which aims to reduce gun and gang violence and improve public safety in Texas. The investigation was led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the U.S. Marshals Service, with prosecution handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jim Noble.
London’s conviction serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing battle against illegal gun trafficking and the efforts of law enforcement to keep communities safe.
