YGG Tay Sentenced to 15 Years for Drug Conspiracy in MD

DAVANTE HARRISON, known as ‘YGG Tay,’ faced federal judge Paul W. Grimm in Baltimore, receiving a 15-year sentence for his role in a major drug conspiracy. The 27-year-old defendant was convicted of distributing fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, and crack cocaine, along with gun charges.

Harrison’s arrest followed an intensive investigation by the FBI, which revealed his involvement in the ‘Young Go Getters’ gang. Authorities observed Harrison conducting drug transactions and traveling with proceeds from his illegal activities.

On November 25, 2019, search warrants led to the recovery of thousands in cash and multiple firearms, including a loaded .40 caliber handgun and a stash containing drugs and paraphernalia. The recovered items were linked directly to Harrison’s criminal enterprise.

Harrison’s co-defendant, Christopher Jerry, also pleaded guilty in the conspiracy and awaits sentencing on December 2nd. The case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a DOJ initiative aimed at reducing violent crime through comprehensive enforcement strategies.

United States Attorney Erek L. Barron praised the investigative efforts of the FBI, Baltimore Police Department, and Anne Arundel County Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Christine Goo and Charles Austin are prosecuting the case.
