Zack James Sadler, 32, Back Behind Bars
A Washington County resident, Zack James Sadler, has been sentenced to an additional 24 months of federal incarceration after violating his federal supervision, Acting United States Attorney Soo C. Song announced today.
Sadler, a repeat offender, was already serving time for being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm in federal court. He had received a 60-month sentence for this crime. His troubles didn’t end there. Sadler was also convicted of escaping from a halfway house after his release from federal custody, earning him another 15 months in prison.
This time around, Sadler was arrested for failing to report his address to United States Probation Officers as required. He was also charged with several alleged gun-related offenses in Washington County. Although most of those cases were dropped due to the victims failing to show in court, Sadler was convicted of Recklessly Endangering Another Person and Illegally Possessing a Concealed Firearm.
United States District Judge Nora Barry Fischer imposed the latest federal sentence on Sadler. In her remarks, Judge Fischer noted that Sadler has a history of previous convictions for illegal firearm possession, assaults, drugs, burglary, and shooting at civilians.
Assistant United States Attorney Ross E. Lenhardt of the Violent Crime Section of the Office of the United States Attorney prosecuted this case on behalf of the government. Acting United States Attorney Song commended the Washington City Police Department and the United States Probation Office for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Sadler.
Sadler’s lengthy rap sheet is a testament to the dangers of repeat offenders. His sentence serves as a reminder that those who break the law will face the consequences. The people of Washington County can rest a little easier knowing that Sadler is back behind bars.
