Drug trafficker Hector Manuel Castro-Quirino, 49, was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison after agents found over $1.5 million and drugs at his Dallas residence, announced U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Leigha Simonton.
In September 2022, Castro-Quirino pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute controlled substances. He faced a judge’s order to forfeit the $1,595,185 in cash seized during the raid on his home.
Agents were tipped off about a drug house on South Acres Drive by an informant in June 2021. They conducted undercover purchases over several weeks before executing a search warrant on July 13, 2021.
Castro-Quirino initially fled to the attic but eventually surrendered. His master bedroom yielded five bags of meth (594 grams) and cocaine (1,447.8 grams), plus drug ledgers and 14 firearms.
In plea papers, Castro-Quirino confessed to selling meth and cocaine, stating that he received about a kilogram each week and month. His common law wife, Vanesa Cervantes, 39, was sentenced to 21 months for concealing the crime.
The investigation was conducted by the ATF Dallas Field Division, the Dallas Police Department, and Texas DPS, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Phelesa Guy prosecuting the case.
