Cold-Blooded Killer Illegal Alien Deported After Horrific Wisconsin Kidnapping

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has deported Akira Salinas-Ruiz, a Mexican national found guilty of the brutal murder of 18-month-old Santiago Teniente Jr. in Wisconsin.

Salinas-Ruiz, who sneaked back into the United States after being voluntarily returned to Mexico in 2002, served a 20-year sentence for his heinous crime. The child was subjected to abusive head trauma and bruising on his neck and stomach, according to reports.

In 2006, paramedics were called to assist a young boy who had difficulty breathing. The toddler, tragically, passed away from his injuries on March 1, 2006. Salinas-Ruiz was convicted of first-degree reckless homicide and sentenced to 20 years in prison.

ICE Director Todd M. Lyons commented, ‘This criminal illegal alien should never have been in the U.S. Santiago Teniente Jr. could have been living his life, but Salinas-Ruiz stole that little boy’s future.’ Lyons emphasized ICE’s mission to remove known public safety threats from the streets.

Salinas-Ruiz was encountered by immigration officials on April 6, 2002, and granted a voluntary return to Mexico. He returned and committed his crime just over four years later. His deportation follows an order from an immigration judge in May 2008, following his release from prison.

Citizens are encouraged to report crimes and suspicious activity by calling 866-DHS-2-ICE or completing the online tip form. Follow ICE’s public safety mission on X at @ICEgov.
