CLARKSBURG, WV – Kenneth Tribett of Bellaire, Ohio, has been hit with a federal indictment for unlawful firearm possession, according to United States Attorney Bill Powell.
Tribett, 46, is alleged to have possessed a .9mm pistol, a 6.35 caliber pistol, and a 22 caliber revolver in Ohio County between January and March of 2019. His previous felony conviction puts him under fire for these serious charges.
The defendant now faces up to 10 years behind bars and a fine reaching $250,000 per count, depending on the severity of his offenses and criminal history, as outlined by the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
This case is a part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a Department of Justice initiative aimed at reducing violent crime. PSN brings together a diverse group of stakeholders to tackle community crime issues effectively and sustainably.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen L. Vogrin will represent the government in this case, with support from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and the Wheeling Police Department.
Remember, an indictment is merely an accusation. Tribett is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
