According to the Department of Justice, the indictment alleges that the individuals attempted to entice children they met online to engage in sexually explicit acts in February 2024.

The individuals, ranging in age from 28 to 45, are facing serious charges, including attempted coercion and enticement of a minor, possession of child pornography, and committing a sexual offense as a registered sex offender.

If convicted, the defendants face a maximum of life imprisonment for their crimes. The case is being investigated by the Homeland Security Investigations Child Exploitation & Cyber Investigations Group and the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, Detachment 105.

The defendants include:

An indictment is only an allegation of criminal conduct, and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel Peach.

The investigation, known as Operation Red Rover, targeted online child predators and resulted in the charges against the eight Georgia residents.

The case is a stark reminder of the dangers of online child predation and the importance of law enforcement’s efforts to protect vulnerable children.

In a statement, the Department of Justice emphasized the seriousness of the charges and the potential consequences for the defendants if convicted.
