Martin Louis Williams, Methamphetamine Distribution, Georgia 2023

Gulfport, Miss. – Martin Louis Williams, 35, from Lawrenceville, Georgia, has been sentenced to a staggering 42 months in prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Williams’ downfall began on May 15, 2023, when he was pulled over during a traffic stop on Interstate 10. The law enforcement officers reported that his vehicle reeked of marijuana, and Williams confessed to smoking it earlier that day.

But the search that followed turned up a sinister discovery: 1000 pills with a “Facebook” logo. These turned out to be 251.5 grams of methamphetamine mixed with caffeine at 5% purity. Williams’ own admission sealed his fate when he confessed his plan to take the drugs across state lines to Georgia for sale.

The Southern District of Mississippi’s U.S. Attorney, Todd W. Gee, and Assistant Special Agent in Charge Anessa Daniels-McCaw of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) announced the sentence.

This case was a collaborative effort between the DEA and the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Erica Rose leading the prosecution.

Williams’ conviction sends a clear message about the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in Mississippi and beyond.
