Jeffrey Snyder, Methamphetamine Possession, Pennsylvania 2024

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania has delivered a heavy blow to drug trafficking in the region. Jeffrey Snyder, a 47-year-old resident of Middleburg, was sentenced yesterday by Chief United States District Judge Matthew W. Brann to a staggering 188 months in federal prison. His crime? Possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Snyder’s pursuit through Union and Snyder counties on April 8, 2024, reached speeds of 90 miles per hour. The police chase culminated in his arrest, where they discovered 376 grams of methamphetamine, $1,390.40 in cash, a stolen vehicle, and a loaded revolver in the driver’s side door of the car he was driving.

This is far from Snyder’s first offense; on March 6, 2025, he pleaded guilty to charges related to the case. The gravity of his crime was underscored by the involvement of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence in neighborhoods across the country.

Launched on May 26, 2021, PSN has been strengthened with a strategy for violent crime reduction based on fostering trust, supporting community organizations, strategic enforcement, and measuring outcomes. The investigation into Snyder was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Robin Zenzinger.

This sentence serves as a stark reminder of the consequences for those who peddle drugs in our communities. The justice system is committed to keeping neighborhoods safe, and sentences like Snyder’s are proof of that dedication.
