Matthew Carl Wilson, Industrial Radio Equipment Theft, Oklahoma 2024

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – A pair of Hugo, Oklahoma residents are headed to federal prison after admitting to hauling stolen goods across state lines. Matthew Carl Wilson, 38, and Candice Marie Logan, 35, were sentenced this month in federal district court for their roles in a scheme involving stolen industrial radio equipment.

The case, investigated by the FBI, Choctaw County Sheriff’s Department, and Paris, Texas Police Department, revealed that on January 16, 2024, Wilson and Logan knowingly transported the stolen equipment from Hugo, Oklahoma, to Paris, Texas. The exact origins of the stolen radios remain murky, but investigators have confirmed the pair profited from the illegal transaction. It’s a classic case of opportunity meeting greed, and they got caught.

Wilson pleaded guilty on April 3, 2025, to one count of Interstate Transportation of Stolen Goods. Chief U.S. District Judge Ronald A. White sentenced him to 30 months in prison on August 8, 2025, and ordered him to pay a staggering $285,749.45 in restitution to the victims. This isn’t a slap on the wrist; it’s a substantial penalty for a calculated crime.

Logan also entered a guilty plea, on April 15, 2025, to the same charge – Interstate Transportation of Stolen Goods. Her sentence, handed down on August 19, 2025, was lighter at 8 months imprisonment, but she too was ordered to make restitution, totaling $45,067.00. The disparity in sentencing likely reflects her lesser role in the operation, but it doesn’t excuse her involvement.

Both Wilson and Logan are currently in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service, awaiting transfer to a Bureau of Prisons facility to begin serving their non-paroleable sentences. They won’t be eligible for early release, meaning they’ll face the full weight of the justice system. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jacob R. Parker successfully prosecuted the case, demonstrating a commitment to cracking down on interstate criminal activity.

This case serves as a stark warning: moving stolen property across state lines isn’t a victimless crime, and federal authorities are actively pursuing these types of offenses. The hefty restitution orders signal that authorities aren’t just interested in punishment, they’re focused on making the victims whole – or as close to it as possible. The Grimy Times will continue to follow this case and report on any further developments.
