ORLANDO, FL – In a shocking turn of events, David Andrew Ogden, 39, of Winter Park, has pleaded guilty to producing and possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM). United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe announced the charges, which could result in Ogden spending decades behind bars.
The defendant, who faces a minimum sentence of 15 years up to 30 years for the production counts and a maximum penalty of 20 years for possession, is scheduled to be sentenced on November 13, 2025. According to court documents, Ogden entered an apartment where three children were sleeping, touching two of them and using his cellphone to produce CSAM.
After his arrest, investigators found additional CSAM on his phone, produced in both 2022 and 2024, involving two other minors. The device also contained over 1,000 AI-generated images and 10 videos depicting the abuse of children aged 2 to 6. This case has been a joint effort by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Winter Park Police Department.
Assistant United States Attorney Megan Testerman is prosecuting this case, which is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation. The project, launched in 2006, aims to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children and rescue victims.
The severity of Ogden’s crimes highlights the ongoing threat of CSAM and the importance of initiatives like Project Safe Childhood. For more information on this initiative, visit www.justice.gov/psc.
