PHILADELPHIA – The gritty streets of Philadelphia saw justice served as Charles Thomas Clark, 30, was convicted today at trial for his role in a brazen armed robbery of an area credit union. United States Attorney David Metcalf announced the verdict against the defendant, who now faces sentencing for aiding and abetting armed bank robbery.
The indictment against Clark came in April 2024, stemming from the terrifying January 9, 2024, attack on the American Heritage Credit Union branch in Abington. Clark, along with co-defendant Emmanuel Glass, entered the facility at gunpoint, demanding cash and checks from employees. The audacity of their actions was matched only by their brazen escape in a stolen vehicle.
Details of the crime were laid bare during trial, where it emerged that Clark had warned employees not to press alarms or risk being shot, echoing his chilling statement: ‘It’s not worth it, this is all insured’ and ‘It’s not worth your life.’ The scene escalated as they fled in a gold 2014 Chevrolet Cruze, leading to a high-speed chase with police. Both robbers were eventually apprehended after Clark crashed into an Abington Police vehicle.
Co-defendant Glass, who pleaded guilty in July, is set for sentencing on November 5. Clark’s own sentencing is scheduled for February 5, 2026.
