A Perry County man has been sentenced for his role in a methamphetamine conspiracy, federal authorities announced.
Ty W. Dusch, 50, of DuQuoin, was sentenced to 96 months in prison, followed by 3 years of supervised release, and fined $200 for his part in a methamphetamine manufacturing scheme.
The scheme, which spanned from 2011 to June 2013, involved obtaining pseudoephedrine for use in the manufacture of methamphetamine in Jackson and Perry Counties.
Evidence presented at the plea and sentencing hearings showed that Dusch and others were obtaining pseudoephedrine, ultimately leading to the discovery of methamphetamine and methamphetamine-making materials during a search warrant at a Murphysboro residence.
At sentencing, the district court found that Dusch was responsible for 371.26 grams of pseudoephedrine, leading to an increased sentence due to his violation of pre-trial bond terms.
The investigation was conducted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Murphysboro Police Department, and Drug Enforcement Administration, with assistance from the DuQuoin Police Department.
Assistant United States Attorney Amanda A. Robertson prosecuted the case.
