A Texas man has been found guilty of making a bomb threat in Oklahoma.
A federal judge in the Eastern District of Oklahoma has convicted Abdolmajid Movagher, 40, of Grand Prairie, Texas, for USE OF TELEPHONE TO MAKE BOMB THREAT, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 844(e).
The trial began with testimony on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 and concluded the same day with the guilty verdict.
Evidence at trial proved that on or about March 10, 2016, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma, the defendant, Abdolmajid Movagher, did, through use of a telephone, make a threat to kill, injure and intimidate any individual and to damage and destroy a building, vehicle, or other real or personal property, by means of fire and explosive, in and affecting interstate commerce.
The investigation revealed that Movagher, a Naturalized American Citizen, called the Chickasaw Nation Police Department on several occasions, yelling and threatening to “blow them up” if he did not get his car back. The car was impounded after Movagher was arrested the previous month.
The verdict obtained was the result of an investigation by the Chickasaw Nation Lighthorse Police Department and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
The statutory range of punishment is up to 10 years of imprisonment, up to $250,000.00 or both.
