Abdullah Woods, Federal Firearms and Narcotics Violation, Pennsylvania 2020

Pittsburgh, PA – A resident of Edinburgh, Indiana, has been accused of violating federal firearms and narcotics laws in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, according to Acting United States Attorney Stephen R. Kaufman.

Abdullah Woods, age 29, was indicted by a federal grand jury on three counts of violating federal firearms and narcotics laws.

The indictment stated that on December 7, 2020, Woods was found to be in possession of a firearm and ammunition, despite being prohibited from doing so due to a prior conviction.

The indictment further alleged that on the same date, Woods was found to be in possession with the intention of distributing cocaine base and cocaine. Additionally, it was alleged that Woods possessed the firearm in furtherance of the drug trafficking crime.

The law provides for a maximum total sentence of not less than five years in prison, a fine of not more than $5,000,000.00, a term of supervised release of at least four years, or a combination thereof.

Assistant United States Attorney Robert C. Schupansky is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government, which was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Woods’ actions are considered a serious offense, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
