Abrianne Lillian Deserly, Second Degree Murder, Montana 2025

A pair of Wolf Point residents have been charged with second-degree murder in connection with a fatal incident on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation.

Abrianne Lillian Deserly, 24, and Calvin Florin Lester, 35, both pleaded not guilty to an indictment charging them with second-degree murder. If convicted, they each face a maximum term of imprisonment of life, a $250,000 fine, and five years of supervised release.

The indictment alleges that on February 26, 2025, near Wolf Point, the defendants recklessly and with extreme disregard for human life, killed an unidentified individual and aided and abetted the same.

U.S. Magistrate Judge John Johnston presided over the arraignment, during which both defendants were detained pending further proceedings.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kalah Paisley. The FBI, BIA, Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law & Justice, and Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office conducted the investigation.

The case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at repelling the invasion of illegal immigration, eliminating cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and protecting communities from violent crime.

The defendants were arraigned on a single count of second-degree murder, which carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, and five years of supervised release.

The charging documents are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
